Book Club

Welcome to the Bruin book club, where we bring our learning community together in a warm, safe and accepting environment, to learn about and discuss reading and books. Our book club is packed full of exciting and enriching reading and discussion activities that appeal to the avid young reader, and all are welcome to join. We provide an opportunity for readers to: share information, improve their reading skills, broaden and deepen their vocabulary bank, improve their comprehension of written words, develop better writing skills, improve their speaking skills and develop research skills. We meet weekly on Tuesdays in room 222.

Kiwani Builders ClubBuilders Club

Builders Club is the largest service organization for middle school and junior high school students, with more than 45,000 members worldwide. Members work together and develop servant leaders skills as they serve their school and community. In partnership with UNICEF and March of Dimes the clubs are able to expand their outreach to children and babies of the world.

If you can use some assistance getting into college or hope to be a first generation college attendee then this is the club for you. We discuss the importance of college, how to get there, and how to prepare for college. We do community service, put on programs, tour college campuses, and shadow career professionals in our community!

Elite Step Team

Elite Step Team

This elite team has won two consecutive 1st place titles for the middle school division in the Delta Step Show! Stepping is a form of percussive dance in which the participant's entire body is used as an instrument to produce complex rhythms and sounds through a mixture of footsteps, spoken word, and hand claps. 

Girls Who Code logoGirls Who Code

An all-girls computer coding course which aims to close the gender gap in computer science by 2027. Will you join the 90,000 girls worldwide who use what they learn about other women in technology to solve problems in their own school and community?
 

National Junior Honor Society

National Junior Honor Society 

An international student organization that consists of chapters in middle schools (grades 6–8). The NJHS was founded by the National Association of Secondary School Principals, and today has chapters in the United States, other U.S. Territories, and around the world. Membership is based on five criteria (pillars): citizenship, service, leadership, scholarship and character. Each year, students are elected by a Faculty Council to be inducted into the NJHS.

Nerd Club

The Nerd Club is an is a competitive, academic, interscholastic activity for which players attend periodic practices and compete with each other. The club provides middle school students with an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of a wide range of subjects, promote life-long learning, celebrate academic achievement, enhance self-confidence, and develop both academic and social skills.

Odyssey of the MindOdyssey of the Mind

An international creative problem-solving program that engages students in learning by allowing  their knowledge and ideas to come to life in an exciting, productive environment. Participants build self-confidence, develop life skills, create new friendships, and are able to recognize and explore their true potential. OotM proves that students can have fun while they learn.

Student Government AssociationStudent Government Association

SGA advocates for the entire student body. It gives students an opportunity to develop leadership skills by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects.  Ideas are presented, voted on, and organized in the classroom. SGA also oversees grade level elections. Each grade level has a President and Vice President.

Young Ladies of Excellence

 Young Ladies of Excellence

A group for eighth grade girls that focuses on many social aspects of life. Our mission is to motivate, build self-esteem, and to serve the community. Our main social objectives are academics, character, self-esteem, and service.  The ladies start the year by creating vision boards that outline their future goals and aspirations. We look forward to a fun and exciting year!
